Client: Mornington Peninsula Shire Council
Service Category: Civil
Duration: 3 months

Project Overview

A local area traffic management scheme for Mornington Peninsula Shire Council at Somerville, built to slow traffic and improve pedestrian safety across the area. The works covered thirteen raised asphalt platforms with associated drainage, line marking and signage, with one platform also taking in public lighting and an additional length of footpath.

Scope of Works

Thirteen raised asphalt platforms
Associated drainage
Public lighting at one platform
Additional footpath Line marking and signage

Challenges

Keeping traffic moving safely through a live, busy local road network while building thirteen platforms across the area. Staging the works and managing traffic around each site was central to getting the job done without holding up the community or the schedule.

Outcome

Safer, easier pedestrian access for the Somerville community, with the new platforms working as speed reduction devices to improve local road safety more broadly.
