Project Information
Location: Dandenong
Client: City of Greater Dandenong
Service Category: Concrete
Duration: 8 weeks
Project Overview
Construction of a large shared user path through a commercial area for City of Greater Dandenong. Recycled aggregate from Future Aggregates, our sister business, was used in the concrete mix, giving the path recycled content while meeting the spec for a busy commercial setting. The finished path gives delivery riders and pedestrians a sealed, reliable route through the precinct.
Scope of Works
Large shared user path
Recycled aggregate in the concrete mix
Commercial crossover and driveway management
Challenges
The path runs through an active commercial precinct, so every business driveway and crossover needed to stay open while the works were underway. With trucks, deliveries and customers relying on continuous access, the path was staged driveway by driveway to keep businesses trading throughout. Construction also fell across one of the area’s busiest trading periods, which called for careful sequencing and steady communication with each business along the corridor.
Outcome
A well-finished shared user path that the client and all user groups are pleased with, built with minimal disruption to local businesses through one of their busiest periods.
