Project Information
Location: Mount Martha
Client: Mornington Peninsula Shire Council
Service Category: Drainage and Civil Works
Duration: 4 weeks
Project Overview
A Melbourne Water approved culvert upgrade for Mornington Peninsula Shire Council at The Briars, Mount Martha. The works took in in situ wingwalls and rock beaching to stabilise the waterway, along with guard rail, asphalt and line marking to finish the crossing. Together the works lift the structural standard of the asset and keep access to the reserve open in all weather.
Scope of Works
Culvert upgrades with in situ wingwalls
Rock beaching
Guard rail
Asphalt and line marking
Challenges
Working in and around a live waterway, where managing water through the site was central to building the culvert and beaching to spec. The crew had to keep the waterway functioning while pouring wingwalls in place, all inside a tight four week window.
Outcome
A functional, structurally sound asset that keeps access to The Briars open in all weather conditions, built to Melbourne Water’s approved standard.
