George Pentland Botanical Gardens

Project Information

Description: Footpath and landscaping
Client: Frankston City Council
Location: Frankston
Duration: 6 Months

Project Description

George Pentland Botanical Gardens is one of Frankston’s most visited green spaces. Access and
site sensitivity were the priorities from day one.

Frankston City Council engaged APS Civil to construct a connecting exposed aggregate path
through the gardens, improving accessibility and community use. With established garden beds,
existing plantings and constant public use, the work needed careful sequencing and a finish that
suited the gardens rather than standing out.

APS Civil constructed custom concrete steps to integrate with existing garden levels, installed
a water fountain and shelter, and completed associated landscaping. All disturbed areas were
reinstated on completion.
