Project Description
Blackspot treatments often involve specialist road safety hardware and standard civil works,
two disciplines that don’t always sit comfortably under the same contract. The Red Hill project
combined both, with APS Civil managing the safety infrastructure and civil construction as a
single coordinated programme.
Mornington Peninsula Shire engaged APS Civil to install guardrails, double-sided CAMs, signage
and upgraded RRPMs and guideposts as the blackspot component, with a new path, pram
crossing, fencing, kerb and asphalt works forming the civil component of the same contract.
All works were completed within six weeks on a live rural road, with traffic management
maintained throughout to keep the corridor safe and accessible for residents and visitors
